Guidance Notes for Developers
Those who are designing, developing, delivering, or applying for medium to larger-scale change. Purposes may include:
- Supporting a Planning application
- Heritage Impact Assessments including archaeology contractors, architects, construction industry, etc.
- Clients submitting medium to larger change applications. these may be on behalf of an organisation, company, or association.
- Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments
- Master planning, including maritime landscapes and environments.
- Neighbourhood planning
- Major infrastructure, including renewable energy and strategic planning, including housing allocation.

Guidance Notes for Property Owners
Those who design, develop, deliver, or apply for change to heritage assets of significance. This may include:
- Property owners applying for change, change of use, conversion or extensions to the following types of assets.
- Churches, chapels, and other ecclesiastical assets
- Open spaces, parks and gardens, sports and recreation facilities
- Public buildings, including community halls.
- Theatres, galleries, museums, and heritage sites
- Retail, pubs, post offices
- Housing
- Farms and estates, nature reserves
