Physical Activity Clinical Champion Training - Registration

Active Cornwall and Devon is facilitating Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC) training for people working in healthcare - This is a series of PACC training events across Cornwall and Devon. 

PACC Training is a nationally supported, evidence based programme that equips healthcare professionals with the skills and confidence to embed Physical Activity into patient care.  Through Free, peer-delivered flexible sessions, it helps close the gap in clinical knowledge and supports better patient outcomes across a broad spectrum of clinical conditions.

The aim of this training is to increase the knowledge, skills and confidence of practicing Health Care Professionals (HCPs), enabling them to effectively incorporate physical activity conversations within their clinical care.

Content Includes:
– The importance of physical activity –Chief Medical Officers Guidelines and understand the role of physical activity in the management of long term conditions
– Evidence-based benefits – The latest Physical Activity research
– Identifying barriers – Learn about the challenges faced by individuals with Long Term Conditions in becoming active
– Helpful resources – Access valuable local and national tools and resources to support your practice and help patients become more active, join a Community of Practice for ongoing support to Champion Physical Activity in your workplace. 


When is the event?

We have a series of  lunch and learn PACC webinars taking place on:

 Thursday 30th April 2026 12-13.30 - PACC Core General Knowledge - The training will be led by Cheryl Pretty (Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist) 

Tuesday May 12th 12-13.30 - PACC with a Mental Health Focus - The training will be led by Paula Manning (Retired Clinical Lead, Mental Health Physiotherapist)

 Tuesday 7th July 12-13.30 - PACC Core General Knowledge - The training will be led by Michelle Turner ( Long Term Conditions Specialist Nurse) 

Wednesday September 23rd - PACC with a Children and Young People Focus - The training will be led by Toni Martin (Associate Lecturer BSc Midwifery)

Where will the event be held?

The training takes place online – a link will be sent to you the day before the event. The PACC training will be interactive so please make sure you have access to a camera and microphone on your device.

Who is the event for?

This training is for anyone working within health who has direct contact with patients. This could include Consultants and GP's, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Assistant Practitioners working at a higher level including Social Prescribers, CHWW's and Health and Well-Being Coaches.
